Harvesting cacao in the peace community of San Jose de Apartado, Colombia. Left, Graciela Tuvergia; center, Daisy Paola Tuvergia; right, Jesus Montoya. In 1997, 1400 war-weary peasants decided to break the logic of the hemisphere’s longest-running war by declaring that they would no longer cooperate with any of the armed parties in the conflict.
